Dr. Rajagopal Gibikote has a B A Ed. and an M.A (English) Degrees from Mysore University, a P G Diploma in Teaching English, an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. Degrees from CIEFL / EFL University, Hyderabad, and an Advanced Diploma in Applied Linguistics from Edinburgh University, Scotland, U.K.

He has taught English Language and Literature and ELT and related Subjects for over five decades, at Bangalore, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Sultan Qaboos University (Muscat, Oman) and Sana’a University (Sana’a, Yemen). He has specialized in Teacher Education, Trainer Training, Bi-/Multilingualism, Learning Languages (Mother Tongue / First and Second Languages), Classroom Teaching Theories and Practices, Phonetics and Spoken English, and Language Testing, Assessment and Evaluation.

He has published widely, guided Research Scholars for M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees, and has presented Research Papers at several Seminars and Conferences in India and Overseas. He has conducted Teacher Training Workshops in ELT all across our Nation, and in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Oman and Yemen. He Chairs a few National Committees on Curriculum Development and Textbook production in English, and as the Series Editor, has assisted a major publisher like M/s Pearsons (India) and another major Institution like the Samvit Research Centre of the Rashtrotthana Parishat (India) in Textbook production (English) for Schools. During his tenure at CIEFL/EFLU, Hyderabad, he held several Administrative positions like Dean (Schools, Research and Campus Development), Registrar I/C, Vice Chancellor I/C. He continues to be a regular Invited Guest Faculty / Speaker at Seminars / Conferences / Teachers’ Organisations, UGC HRD Center(s), and other Fora.
