Brief Information On Guru Purnima :
Guru Purnima in India has always been an auspicious occasion concerning the unique relationship between teachers and their students. Guru Purnima is celebrated in the Hindu calendar month of Ashaada, on the full moon day that is Purnima. This year, Guru Purnima will be celebrated on July 24th. It is also known as Vyasa Purnima after Veda Vyasa, who wrote the epic Mahabharata. Adi Shankara, Sri Ramanuja Acharya and Sri Madhvacharya are some of the noteworthy Gurus in Hinduism. Guru Purnima is also celebrated by Buddhists in honor of Gautama Buddha to commemorate the day Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh, India. Most of the religions and cultures have spiritual and academic gurus who were considered as equivalent to god or even more than him. As per Sanatan Dharma, on Guru Purnima, Lord Shiva, the Adi Guru or the original teacher, started the transmission of yoga to Saptarishis.
Major events at school include paying tribute to the gurus and thanking them for sharing their knowledge and wisdom with us.
