About the role

As a Project Manager – Social Studies Team, you will lead and oversee the development of learning resources and curriculum frameworks for Social Studies. This role involves collaborating with team members, freelancers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure the creation of high-quality educational materials.

You will be responsible for managing project timelines, coordinating content development, and ensuring the timely delivery of books and teaching-learning resources. The ideal candidate will have expertise in curriculum design, content creation, and team management, with a passion for enhancing Social Studies education.

Responsibilities

Team Coordination

Coordinate with team members, freelancers, SMEs, and editors to ensure smooth workflow and alignment with project goals.

Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to deadlines.

Foster collaboration among content creators, illustrators, and designers to maintain consistency and quality.

Framework Development

Develop comprehensive frameworks related to the project, including learning objectives, pedagogical approaches, and content guidelines.

Ensure alignment with the latest curriculum standards, including NEP 2020 and NCF guidelines.

Content Development

Oversee the creation of engaging and age-appropriate learning resources, including textbooks, workbooks.

Ideation and designing  prototypes of supplementary teaching-learning materials.

Provide creative and pedagogical guidance to the team to ensure the resources are impactful, interactive, and culturally relevant.

Incorporate multidisciplinary approaches where possible, linking Social Studies with other domains such as science, art, and language.

Quality Assurance

Review and refine content to ensure accuracy, inclusivity, and age-appropriateness.

Collaborate with editors to maintain high standards for language, formatting, and design.

Collaboration

Work closely with stakeholders, including internal teams, freelancers, and consultants, to align on project goals.

Facilitate brainstorming sessions and workshops to generate innovative ideas.

Communicate regularly with team members and external collaborators to ensure clarity and alignment.

Project Management

Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, timelines, deliverables and ensure timely execution.

Identify risks and challenges in the project lifecycle and address them proactively.

Monitor budgets and resource allocation to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Training and Mentorship

Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills in content creation and pedagogy.

Ensure team members are well-versed in curriculum standards and project guidelines.

Qualification and skills required

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Studies, History, Geography, Education, or a related field.

Additional certifications in project management or curriculum development are an advantage.

In-depth knowledge of Social Studies curricula, concepts, and pedagogical strategies.

Understanding of curriculum frameworks such as NEP 2020, NCF, and global best practices.

At least 5–7 years of experience in Social Studies curriculum development, teaching, or project coordination.

Experience working with publishing houses, educational organizations, or ed-tech companies.

Strong ability to plan, execute, and monitor complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Proficiency in using project management tools such as Asana, Trello, or similar platforms.

Proven experience in leading and coordinating teams of content creators, designers, and editors.

Ability to inspire and motivate teams while maintaining accountability.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and effectively.

Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Familiarity with digital tools and resources for innovative content development.

Basic knowledge of design and editing software (e.g., Adobe InDesign) is a plus.
