Stories for Life is one of the Samvit modules which focuses on seven personality aspects required for positive emotional and social development of children. Current education system focuses on literacy & intellectual development. It prepares children for livelihood but falls short of preparing them for life. Samvit Stories for life module attempts to fill this void. Seven aspects are chosen to blossom personality from within, it starts with understanding self and slowly expands the self to family, society, nation and the nature. This module also emphasizes on key ingredients of Self-Discipline (Anushasan), Courage, Patience & Perseverance required to achieve meaningful goals in life.

High-lights of the Stories for Life

  • Seven aspects are progressively developed from class 1 to class 10: Every year age specific development is done for each of the above-mentioned aspects
  • Specific development objectives are defined for each aspect every year
  • Age specific effective methodology is used for developing strong understanding and application of the aspect
    • Class 1 to 3: Multiple stories on same aspect to create positive impressions
    • Class 4 to 7: Combination of Stories, Group learning and application in life
    • Class 8 to 10: Focus on self-expression and self-experience – provide situations and let students construct stories. Impactful videos from social life and experiments with self.
  • Every concept is gradually developed from early childhood to High-school. The difficulty levels of the concept from the story and the number of characters involved vary based on the age
  • Stories can be taught by any teacher, children innate love for stories. It is joyful experience for both students and teachers
  • Age specific toolkit for teacher’s to assess impact of their teaching

Understanding self is to know who we are and whats makes us unique, it is the baseline, for developing emotional quotient. This starts from observing, knowing and understanding physical self, its strengths and weakness. Slowly this journey moves towards inner self, which also has some strengths and weaknesses. Understanding what makes me happy or unhappy, it is awareness about what makes me angry or jealous.

Self-control is inner strength, it gives us power to stick to our decisions. Our mind constantly works to get maximum pleasure without understanding the consequence of it. Anushasan (self-discipline) is required to direct our mind towards right things by having controlled behvaior in daily life. Anushasan is freedom from unwanted negativities in life, it helps in predictable long term benefits. Sanyam on Sleep, Eating, Fear and Desires It is ability to restrict distractions and temptations, not to give up despite failures. Benefits: Self esteem, Satisfaction, Achievement of goal, Good relations, good heath, etc Consequences of lack of SD: Failures, low self esteem, eating disorders, addictions, bad habits, bsesity, troubled relationships, etc

Courage is ability of mind to face difficult situation without fear and Stand for right things even if many people oppose you. It is strength to confront challenges coming in the form of pain, danger, uncertainity or our own weakness and mistakes There are always difficulties in life, courageous people win over the fear of failure or pain

Ability to withstand in difficulty and stay on course despite obstacles without losing composure. The patient person, therefore, possesses a great freedom. He is free to stay on course with his life and fulfill his responsibilities Patience requires much inner strength not to be discouraged in the midst of great trials perseverance enables one to continue to strive for the good no matter how difficult it might be to obtain it It is Capacity to accept delay, Trying despite delay In success

Socisties based on Kartavya are inherently harmonious and blissful. If everyone in the society focus on their duties, then automatically there will law & order every where, all will be peaceful and happy. Ask not what country has given to you, check what is your duty towards building prosperos nation. Only responsible citizens can build great Nations

Selfless act, Natural human quality, working without expecting reward Seva & Sacrifice are two pillars of Bharatiya Sanskriti. The first step in the spiritual path is selfless service of humanity.By doing service, you purify your heart. Egoism, hatred, jealousy, idea of superiority vanish. Humility, pure love, sympathy, tolerance, and mercy are developed. Sacrifice is described as offering an important part of th self to the needy in the community.

Nature Consciousness is about Co-existance Understading the importance of Nature in our existance. Being aware of our actions which hurt or distroy elements of nature and its consequence. Nature is expresion of God, we should strive to protect it and enhance its beauty.
