Prof. Mallepuram G. Venkatesh

Director, Samvit Research Foundation, Former Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka Samskrit University

Prof. Mallepuram G. Venkatesh is the Director of Samvit Research Foundation.

He received his primary education at Sri Siddalingeshwara Sanskrit Mahapathasala, Siddaganga, Tumkur District. He completed his post-graduation in both Kannada and English. He got his D.Litt. from Tumkur University.

Starting as a Kannada Pandit, he went on to hold higher positions and became the Dean of Hampi University in 2005. He is well known as a disciple of Dr. Shamba. He worked as a bridge between the literary lands of Old Mysore State and Dharwad, between thinkers of both the regions.

His literary journey started as a proof reader in the Kannada daily-Lokavani and he went on to publish several literary works, with over 60 books to his credit. He has also won several awards including the prestigious Kannada Sahitya Academy award twice. He had deep association with stalwarts like Shri Pu.thi Narasimhachar and Shri S K Ramachandra Rao.

He has held and holds several illustrious and coveted offices in the field of education. A Deep thinker with a passion to transform society, Dr. Mallepuram ji is also one of the luminaries that created Samvit.
